WELCOME To OUR CHURCH
Woosehill Church Covid 19 Update – 18/03/2020
You will be aware that the government introduced additional measures on Monday aimed at preventing the further spread of corona virus. The Health Secretary made clear in Parliament that the guidance applies to all faith communities.
The Archbishops of Canterbury & York have issued a statement in response to the guidance which puts our usual pattern of Sunday services and other midweek meetings on hold.
The Methodist Church have taken the same action. Our minister, Rev’d Catherine Bowstead, has issued a news letter, WMC Pastoral Letter 200320 , and particular emphasis should be given to the Sunday Service that they are putting on their website at 10.30am each Sunday. https://www.wokinghammethodist.org.uk/index.php/worship/sunday-services
There will, therefore, be no public church services or church-run groups until further notice. We are very much still here though – if you need prayer please contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org or if you need any practical help call us on 0118 979 2122.
These are very early days in this new phase and you will appreciate that things are changing rapidly. We will endeavour to keep you updated as things happen.
There are several ways of participating in real & virtual services – the Methodist Church has:-
Wesley’s Chapel in London will continue to live-stream worship, adapted for no physical congregation.
Wednesday 12:45 Thursday 12:45 Sunday 9:45 and 11:00.
All these services will be available at: www.youtube.com/channel/UCUAUqhmhevz5sqhh72LIMxA
The BBC has announced it is launching a virtual church service on Sundays amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The virtual church service will take place on Sunday mornings at 08.00am across local radio in England, initially led by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby. (Our Local Station is Radio Berkshire).
The BBC will also aim to broadcast a weekly Sunday morning church service on BBC One, but this will be subject to outside broadcast capacity.
This short act of worship has been prepared for you to use if you are unable to attend church, (depending on your browser this may download a PDF file for you to open & use):-

We are a ‘Conventional District’ within the Anglican parish of St. Paul’s Wokingham, in the Methodist Circuit of Berkshire Surrey Borders, and with close links to Wokingham Methodist Church. We are members of Churches Together in Wokingham.

There are no upcoming events at this time.
Each month, we have two sessions designed for our younger people: Sunday Club for ages 3 upwards takes place on the 2nd Sunday of each month during our morning service from 10am; Messy Church takes place at the church on the 4th Sunday, from 4-6pm and includes stories, games and craft activities followed by a sit down tea. All are welcome, not just children!
