Cara Smart has arrived in Wokingham via Cheshire, Reading and Tadley; she has had a varied career including toy testing and working at MacMillan Publishers. She trained for ordination at Rippon College Cuddlesdon, alongside being a Children’s Worker for a group of six churches. For the last five years she has been curate in our Parish enjoying the varied traditions of the three components of St.Pauls, St.Nicks and Woosehill. She is married to Richard and has two children and two dogs. Her hobbies include: baking, watching sci-fi, socialising and playing the flute. She is also learning the cello. Wes Hampton is the minister at Wokingham Methodist Church, having previously served in circuits in Hampshire, Kent, London and Essex, and Leicestershire. He is married to Cherry, and they have two grown-up children who have fled the nest. Cherry enjoys reading, the theatre, baking, and various craft activities. In ministry Wes particularly values leading worship and preaching. He likes to watch sport; taking a strong interest in the fortunes of Hastings United.
Sam Tanna-Korn is the rector of St.Paul’s church. He grew up in South Wales, where he came to faith, before moving onto study theology in Cambridge and at the World Council of Churches study centre in Geneva. He was ordained in St.Albans in 2014 and was a curate in Barnet and then a vicar in Aintree. For the past six years he has worked as both chaplain to an Islington comprehensive school and as an assistant priest in Westminster. He has a particular interest in working with children and young people as well as thoughtful preaching and worship. He enjoys cooking, country walks , the theatre and opera and watching cricket. He has recently married Pinky.
Doreen Murgatroyd is a Methodist Local Preacher, and a member at Woosehill where she preaches and also at other churches in the wider Blackwater Valley Circuit.
Elaine Steere is a Anglican Licensed Lay Minister in the Winchester Diocese with permission to lead services and preach at Woosehill, where she was a member for 30 years.
